L. Robert "Bob" Haessig, 75, of Milan, Indiana died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Margaret-Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born at home on January 15, 1935 in Aurora, Indiana to Loren and Alma (Roberts) Haessig.He married Joan Mosier in 1962 and she preceded him in death on October 2, 2009.Bob worked with his father at Haessig's Market until he and his brother, Nelson, became owner's in 1970. He was an Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1960 and spending 18 months in Germany.Survivors include Daughter and Son-in-law, Gretchen and Jim Berger of Milan; Daughter, Andrea Haessig of Bellevue, Kentucky; 3 Grandchildren; and three brothers, Donald Haessig and Nelson Haessig, both of Milan and Roger Haessig of Syracuse, Indiana.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joan Haessig.The visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana 47041. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Duane A. Loos, Pastor of St. Paul United Methodist in Sunman, will officiate. Burial with graveside military honors will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, Indiana.Memorial donations may be given to the Sunman Volunteer Fire Department or to the Sunman Life Squad.Family members will serve as pallbearers.
