Lila Mae Thomas, age 84 of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, July 16 2014 at her residence. Born on July 25, 1929 in Rose Hill, Virginia, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Ollie Emma (nee-VanHess) Jerrell. Lila Mae married Price Thomas on November 9, 1945 in Middlesboro, Kentucky and he survives. She retired from Batesville Casket as a seamstress after 28 years of service. Lila Mae's love was spending time with her family. Those surviving who will honor Lila Mae's memory include her husband of 68 years, Price Thomas; children, Darrell (Sue) Thomas of Columbus, IN, Garry Thomas of Sunman, Dennis (May) Thomas of Sunman, and Danny (Heather) Thomas of Milan; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Dee, and Ray and sister, Marie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Raymond and Larry; siblings, Russell, June and Lois. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Tom Holt of the Hope Baptist Church are Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman.
