Linda Sue Hess Oelker, age 62, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at her home in Sunman. Born September 30, 1952, Linda was the daughter of Vernon and Jessie McCool Hess. A member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hubbell's Corner, Linda (fondly known as "Mrs. O") was a passionate teacher; one beloved by her former students at Milan Middle School, and previously, Sayler Park Elementary in Cincinnati. Linda made a difference in countless lives both in and outside the classroom. She was involved in many student activities; most notably she organized and led the annual eighth grade trip to Washington DC. Also honoring her life are her siblings: Vernon Hess Jr. (Jackie) of Cincinnati, OH, Shirley Becker (Michael) of Villa Hills, KY, and Nancy Miller of Bright, IN; many nieces and nephews; and dearest friends, Clyde Knigga, Cathy Donohoue, Dr. Tom Reale, Nancy Dicus and Susan Dudgeon. Linda was preceded in death by her parents. Ms. Oelker's visitation will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.
