Obituary

Lois Marie (Gosney) Ellinghausen was born on September 21, 1921 in Falmouth, Kentucky to Inez (Lorenzen) and Merlin Gosney. After her father's death on October 27, 1930, she came to Manchester, on Amm Road, to be raised by her grandparents, Henry and Laura Lorenzen and their family of 13. Lois was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She met her future husband, Carl Ellinghausen at church, and they were married December 14, 1940. Together they raised 3 children, Larry, Sandy and Wanda. Lois enjoyed the farm life, working with Carl at many jobs, watching the birds and loved her dogs and the simple things in life. On September 3, 2015, at the age of 93, she passed away at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Lois leaves behind many who will not only miss her dearly, but who will cherish her memory. Survivors include children, Larry (Barbara) Ellinghausen of Cold Springs, KY, Sandy (John) Craig of Manchester, and Wanda (David) Scott of Milan; 5 grandchildren, Tammy Wohlfrom, Lisa Huddleston, JC Craig, Suzanne Gibson, and Lance Ellinghausen; 7 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Carl on December 31, 1997, brother Edward Gosney on September 5, 1998, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services for Lois will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorial donations to Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, or a Charity of Choice.
