Lucille Byrd Thomas, age 79, of Brookville, Indiana passed away at her residence, Tuesday August 28, 2012 following a short illness. She was born July 4, 1933, in Oneida, Kentucky to Claude and Lita Allen Byrd. Lucille had lived in Brookville for 45 years and was a member of The New Point Christian Church. She is survived by three sons: Steve Thomas, Charles (Diane) Thomas and Russell (Jody) Thomas all of Brookville, IN; three daughters: Regina (Alonzo) Gross of Alexandria, KY, Rebecca (Wayne) Meyer of Brookville, IN, Robin Sizemore of Alexandria, KY. Grandchildren: Steven and William Thomas, Greg and Rodney Gross, Angie Chitwood, Cody and Taylor Thomas, Thomas and Andrew Meyer, Megan Sizemore, Bella; Great Grandchild: Mikayla Thomas; Special Blessings Ryan and Sara Mortashed.Sisters and Brothers: Larry (Janie) Byrd, Brookville, IN; Cindy Rose Deaton, Cincinnati,OH; Earl (Donna) Byrd, Brookville, IN; Carolyn (Floyd) Maddix, Cleves, OH; Charlene (Bill) Adams, Laurel, IN.Lucille was preceeded in death by her husband Dewey "Tank" Thomas, brothers Levi, Vernon, Sidney, Randall and Kenneth Byrd.Friends may call on the family Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 4-9pm at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street Brookville, Indiana and Friday 10-11am at New Point Christian Church, 1815 S Co Rd 800 E (Highway 46) New Point, Indiana. Minister Mark Vice will officiate the funeral service at 11am Friday. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, Indiana. Pallbearers include: William Thomas, Steven Thomas, Andrew Meyer, Thomas Meyer, Greg Gross, and Cody Thomas. Memorial donations may be directed to the New Point Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
