Lucy Ann Burchett, of Sunman, was born on February 5, 1967, in Batesville, Indiana, a daughter to Stanley and Lucy McQueen Schneider.  She was a graduate of East Central High School. Her children said her baking was an important part of their lives as she believed cookies could fix almost anything, and who would disagree?  Lucy enjoyed working around the farm and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  On Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the age of 56, she passed away at her residence.

Survivors include her partner, Paul Batta; two daughters, Shelly (Cody) Schmidt and Hanna (Ernest) Chasteen; one son, Robby (Amanda) Burchett; 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Mikey, Rylie, Amelia, Ernest, Cora, and Gabe; siblings, Carol (Larry) McAllister, Tom Schneider, Stanley Schneider, Nancy Strassell, Joanne (Phil) Caldwell, Roberta (Matt) Barnes, and John (Connie) Schneider as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Charly, William, and Judy.

A Celebration of Lucy's life will be held at New Point Christian Church, 1815 S County Road 800 E, New Point, Indiana on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 5 p.m.  Friends may visit with the family starting at 4 p.m. at the church.
