Margaret O. Seibert, age 81, of Connersville, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, IN. She was born October 24, 1932, the youngest child of Dolph and Lorrine Biere Offutt. Margaret was a 1950 graduate of Connersville High School and lived in Connersville her entire life. She was employed as a secretary at the Y.M.C.A. and graduated from Anderson Beauty School in 1951. She worked at the Auto License Bureau for 5 years and was a teacher's aide in Fayette County School for 5 years. Margaret was an election board poll worker for 35 years, taught cake decorating classes in the Community Education classes and catered weddings for 5 years. While working at The Dairy Bar in Brookville, she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Seibert. They were married at the Central Christian Church in Connersville on July 1, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1993.Margaret was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed raising her children, crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always doing something for others. Margaret was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she also served as church council secretary for 13 ½ years. Those surviving who will honor Margaret's memory include; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Carol Seibert of College Corner, OH, and Ted and Michelle Seibert of Connersville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Perry Combs of West College Corner, IN; 7 grandchildren, Eric and Jenna Seibert, Angela and Lori Scott, Brett Seibert, Brittany Seibert, Suzanne Seibert, B.J. and Mindy Scott; 6 step grandchildren, Dale and Andrew Clampitt, Crystal and Jeremy Combs, Brennan and Lane Reece; great grandchildren, Rylee, Blaine, Averie, and Kenley; one sister, Lois Miller; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Roberta Glaser. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father Dolph Offutt on July 4, 1947, her mother Lorrine on April 26, 1997; sister, Phyllis Glaser, and brothers, Ray and Sinclair Offutt.Visitation for friends and family is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church, Connersville with Rev. Norman Dew and Pastor Bill Peterson officiating the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery, Connersville. Memorial contributions may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church, the Bob and Marge Seibert Endowment in care of the Franklin County Community Foundation, or the College Corner Volunteer Fire Department.
