Margie Reed, of Sunman, was born on August 16, 1940, the cherished daughter of Henry and Dorothy Butler Smith. She married Bennie Reed on November 3, 1979, in Newport, Kentucky, and together they raised nine wonderful children. Margie was employed for many years as a machinist at Campbell Hausfeld. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo at the Sunman and Milan American Legion Halls, gambling at local casinos, listening to music—and going out to hear her favorite bands. She also loved watching wrestling on Monday and Friday nights, often yelling at the television during an intense match. Most of all, Margie treasured spending time with her family and grandchildren. On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 85, Margie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Those surviving who will carry Margie's legacy forward include her children, Bev Barnett, Dorothy (Jack) Eckerle, Connie McIntosh, Bobbi Jo (Vince) Sorber, Becky (Ronnie) Harmeyer, Jason Reed; one son-in-law, Dannie Napier; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, Bennie Reed; and 3 daughters, Brenda, Robin, and Barb.

In keeping with Margie's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no public services.
