Marie Johnson, 81, of Connersville, Indiana and formerly of Franklin County, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Heritage House in Connersville, Indiana.She was born July 15, 1929 in Clay County, Kentucky to Ad and Minnie (Grimes) Hunter.She had formerly worked at Sperry Rubber in Brookville, Indiana and Philco in Connersville, Indiana. She was a member of Plum Grove Pentecostal Church in Brookville.Survivors include two sons, David Shoemaker and Jerry Shoemaker, and one daughter, Kathy Shoemaker, all of Brookville, Indiana; two brothers, Isaac Hunter of Connersville, Indiana and Clay Hunter of Orange, Indiana; and two great-granddaughters, Megan Shoemaker and Merceded Case.In addition to her parents, Ad and Minnie Hunter, she was preceded in death by her first Husband, Boone Shoemaker, and her second Husband, Pearl Johnson; seven siblings, Betty Susan Hunter, Gilbert Hunter, Helen Dumford, Emma Proctor, Stella Pierce, Everett Hunter and May Carey; and two Grandchildren, Jeffery Ross Shoemaker and Linda Marie Shoemaker.The visitation is Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Paul Shoemaker, Pastor of Plum Grove Pentecostal Church in Brookville, will officate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed towards the family to assist with expenses.
