Mary Lou Cox, age 80, of Brookville, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.She was born January 16, 1933 in Metamora (Gates Branch), Indiana. Mary Lou was the daughter of James Burgess McMillan, Jr. and Florence Ida (McConnell) McMillan. She attended Metamora Grade School and Brookville High School. On July 8, 1950, Mary Lou married Albert Cox at the Church of Christ in Brookville and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1993. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and was always quick and proud to claim Metamora as her home town. For more than 20 years, Mary Lou was a Special Education Driver and retired from Franklin County Community Schools. Previously she had been employed as a production supervisor with Jay Garment Company of Brookville. Those surviving who will honor Mary Lou's memory include; three sons, Randy (Becky) Cox of Brookville, Ron Cox of Brookville and Rick (Wanda) Cox of Batesville; six grandsons, James of Blooming Grove, Jason (Jamie) of Connersville, Wesley (Aimee) of Brookville, Scott of Brookville, Darrick (Casey) of Batesville and Errick (Amanda) of Batesville; thirteen great grandchildren, Noah, Kendall, Kodi, James, Whitney, Jason, Jacob, Carlie, Kenzie, Cameron, Colton, Billy and Allie; three sisters, Hazel (Edgar) Shell of Brookville, Louise (Ken) Bruner of Snellville, GA, and Brenda Tomlin of Connersville; and one brother, Alvin (Emma) McMillan of Cedar Grove. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Charles and Roy.Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Terry Cochran will officiate the funeral service on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11 AM.
