Mary C. Rehberger, age 72, of Sunman, Indiana, entered this life on August 6, 1942. She was the devoted daughter of Henry and Marie Klein Bechtel. Mary was happily wedded to Harry Conrad Rehberger. She enjoyed many years as the cook for the Old Brick Tavern in Penntown. Mary was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Penntown. She freely volunteered her time to assist with the local Girl Scout troop and helped with the Special Olympics for 20 years. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed playing bingo, talking on the phone, spending time with her family, and cooking - especially frying chicken. Mary passed from this life on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at her home in Sunman. Those cherishing Mary's memory include her children and step-children, Tammy Jo (David) Robbins of Batesville, Kimberly Sue (Loren) Ball of Orlando, Florida, Timothy Harry (Jennifer) Rehberger of Osgood, Betty (Tim) Otis of Oklahoma, Carol McCool of Batesville, and Sandra Jean Maxfield of Cincinnati. Also surviving are her siblings, Viola Adams of Batesville, Alice Riehle of Harrison, Rosie Weber of Greensburg, Henry Bechtel of Ocala, Florida, and Daniel Bechtel of Batesville; seven grandchildren, and many friends and acquaintances. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and a step-son, David Rehberger. Visitation for family and friends of Mary will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Pastor Lynne Busch, St. John's United Church of Christ, will officiate the funeral service on Friday at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Rehberger, David Robbins, Kenny Riehle, Loren Ball, Clifford Riehle and Henry Bechtel.
