Maya Slone, 46, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012. She was born September 16, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Jim Bevis and Wanda Kolodzik.Maya married Tommy R. Slone, Jr. on December 29, 1986, and he survives. She worked for Argosy Casino for 13 years. Maya loved spending time with her family and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Tommy R. Slone, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy R. and Yukari Slone III of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, currently deployed to Saudi Arabia; sons, Brandon J. Slone of Sunman, and Aaron M. Slone of Sunman; grandson, Tommy R. Slone IV; parents, Jim Bevis of Florence, Indiana, and Wanda Bevis of Laurel, Indiana; sister, Freda Younger; brother Jimmy Bevis; sister Sherry Blasavage; brothers Terry Herrington, Troy Bevis and Tom Bonnlander; sister Amber Chartrand and brother Juan Bevis, as well as many nieces and nephews. Maya was preceded in death by brothers, Robbie Herrington and Bo Bevis and sister, Juanita Jones. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 7pm at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana with Pastor Jimmy Ison officiating.
