Nelson R. Richter, 91, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at his residence.He was born April 12, 1922 to Walter and Augusta Tangman Richter at home, near Sunman. Nelson starting farming when he was a teenager and it was his lifelong passion. He was also a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Nelson had numerous Collie dogs and never turned away a stray. Survivors include his first cousins; Lavonne Huber of Sunman, Viola Torwelle of Greensburg, and Kendall Gunter of Batesville; and many dear friends.Visitation for friends and family will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Pastor Chad Adamik will officiate the funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Spades.Memorial contributions may be directed to Sunman Volunteer Fire Department, Sunman Life Squad, or a Charity of Choice.
