Palma S. Broughton, of Milan, was born on October 9, 1959 in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of Linzy B. and Amelia Williams Short.  Palma spent most of her early life traveling out west, bartending locally and taking care of the elderly. Her children described her as stubborn person with a big personality who loved being around people.  On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the age of 57, she passed away at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.

Survivors include her son, Linzy Williams of Sunman, daughter, Destiny Broughton of Sunman; 3 grandchildren, Cierra Williams, Malachi Williams, and Devaunte Carter; one brother, Denny Short of Manchester, and her mother, Amelia Short of Sunman.  She was preceded in death by her father.

A gathering of friends and family will be on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Sunman Community Building.
