Patricia "Pat" A. (Laymance) Pierce, 62, of Connersville, Indiana passed away on October 2, 2010 at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Hagerstown, Indiana after a lengthy battle with lung and brain cancer.She was born November 15, 1947 in Sunbright, Tennessee to William "Billy" Laymance and Deli Conner, both of whom precede her in death. She was the step-daughter of the late Dalton Conner. Patricia formerly lived in New Castle and Connersville, Indiana and also Mountain City, Tennessee. At the time of her passing she was staying with and being cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorretta and Chris Haynes of Hagerstown, Indiana.She was previous owner and operator of "The Hungry House Restaurant" in Mooreland, Indiana, an acheivement in her life that she was most proud of. She also worked for many years as a houseparent at Knightstown Soldirs and Sailors Children's Home, as well as working and retire from Chrysler in New Castle. Pat enjoyed sewing, quilting, and spending time with her loved ones, especially her three granddaughters.Survivors include her daughter and special son-in-law, Dorretta and Chris Haynes, of Hagerstown, Indiana; Son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Tracy Green and their three children, Molly, Madison, and Maesen, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; two brothers, Mike (Pam) Conner, and Phillip (Susan) Conner; one sister, Jerrie Hinson; and also several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Billy Laymance, and Deli and Dalton Conner, she was also preceded in deathy by her brother, Larry Laymance.The family will not be having a visitation in honor of Patricia's wishes. However, you may honor her memory by making a donation, in her name, to find a cure for lung and/or brain cancer. She also suffered from diabetes and donations may also be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
