Pearl H. Guenther, 94, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Waters in Batesville.She was born on May 6, 1918 to Gus Doehlman and Stella Oehlman. She was the last surviving of 6 brothers and sisters. She married Robert Guenther June 19, 1943 at Grace Lutheran Church in Tuscon, Arizona. Pearl was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Hubbells Corner. As a lifelong member, she served as Sunday school teacher and was a part of the Ladies' Aid Society. Along with her husband and daughter Patricia, Pearl was a member of the Sunman Area Life Squad. She worked as a secretary in the Sunman-Dearborn school system and later retired from People's Bank and Trust Co. in Sunman. Left to honor Pearl's memory are her children, David (Caroline Sue) Guenther of Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda (Joseph) Glaub of Guilford, Indiana, and Stephen (Michele) Guenther of Sunman, Indiana; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Besides her husband and parents, Pearl was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Salatin; brothers, Russell, Leroy, and Herald Doehlman; sisters Viola Nedderman, Mable Fassold, and Helen Lauber. Visitation is Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 3-6 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana and Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hubbells Corner, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will start at 10:00 with Pastor Chad Adamik officiating. Burial will follow in Evangelical Union Cemetery.Memorial donations may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall and the Sunman Area Life Squad.
