Robert Gordon Loper, 80, of Connersville, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Heritage House in Connersville.

Robert was born on December 4, 1937, in Cedar Grove, to Gordon and Helen VanCamp Loper. He graduated from the Indiana Deaf School in Indianapolis. Robert married Martha DeWeese on February 26, 1971 in Indianapolis and they enjoyed more than forty-six years together.  He was employed at D & M in Connersville until they closed. Robert loved hunting, being outdoors, and being a huge IU basketball fan.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by four children: Connie Loper of California, Dale Loper and wife, Shani of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Joyce Loper of Kentucky, and Garland Loper and wife, Hannah of Camby, Indiana; four grandchildren: Melissa, Samantha, Roman, and Katia.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street Brookville.  Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 pm until time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
