Robert "Bob" Nelson Chapman, 79, of Brookville, Indiana died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Sycamore Springs Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, Indiana.He was born in Brookville, Indiana and was the son of Frieda Fern Chapman Bowne, who survives. On March 9, 1954 he wed Joan Virjean Sufferling, whom he was married to for 55 years, and she survives. A Military Veteran, he was a Corporal in the Marine Corp, serving Active Duty from 1952 to 1954 and then was a Reservist from 1954 to 1960. He retired from Fry Roofing, which later became Owen's Corning, where he worked as an office and personnel manager. He attended Talawanda Baptist Church in Oxford, Ohio. His wife shared that he was absolutely amazing and could do anything and fix anything he touched. In addition to his Wife, Joan V. Chapman and his Mother, Frieda Fern Bowne, of Liberty, Indiana he is survived by a Brother-in-law, Cornelius "Sonny" Sufferling, of Florida. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Fred and Nora Chapman and by his In-laws, Cornelius and Pearl Eva Sufferling. The Visitation will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana. The Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitiation, beginning at 1:00 PM with Dr. Donald W. Gillis, former Interim Pastor of Talawanda Baptist, officiating. Burial will follow in Sims Cemetery in New Fairfield. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard.Memorial donations may be given, in Mr. Chapman's name, to the American Heart Association, Attn: Memorials Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, Illinois 60674.
