Roland E. Bechtel III, 53, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Hospice of Cincinnati, Ohio.He was born February 16, 1960, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Roland E. Bechtel, Jr. and Janet Bailey Bechtel. Roland married Kim Bolser on April 15, 1995, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and she survives. For several years, he was active in the restaurant business as a manager and owner. He was a career salesman who did financial planning for the Bechtel Agency, and had previously worked in automobile sales at Baker Motors. He also worked locally for Deufol Packaging. He enjoyed football, having played for Madeira High School and Hanover College, and rooted for the Dallas Cowboys. He was also an avid L.A. Lakers fan and a member of Phi Delta Theta. Most of all, Roland loved his family and spending time with them.Those surviving who will honor Roland's memory include; wife, Kimberlee Bechtel of Sunman, IN; parents, Roland Jr. and Janet Bechtel of DuBois, PA; brother, Charles R. (Jill) Bechtel of Lebanon, Ohio, sister, Nina Bechtel-Knox and husband Robert of DuBois, PA.; children, Jeff (Catrina) Bechtel of Cincinnati, Tiffany Brashear of Millville, Ohio, Roland (Gloria) Bechtel IV of Canton, Ohio, Joe Bechtel of Cincinnati, and Tabytha Bechtel of Sunman, IN; seven grandchildren, Lexi, Connor, Kaylee, Shyla, Natalie, Grace, and Roland V.Friends may visit with Roland's family on Friday, August 30, 2013, from 5-7 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, IN. Brother Rob Edwards will officiate the service, beginning at 7 PM. Cremation will follow. A burial service will take place in DuBois, PA, at the Morningside Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice of Cincinnati.
