Sharon R. Sledge, 52, of Sunman, Indiana and formerly of Candler, North Carolina (near Ashville) died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana.She was born November 7, 1957 in Ashville, North Carolina and was the daughter of Barbara Jean Payne Dorlan and Howard Dorlan.She was a graduate of Enka High School as well as graduating from Cecil's Junior College with a degree in Business Administration. She retired from South Eastern Container Company in Enka, N.C. where she worked in quality control. She was a member of the Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church in Ashville, N.C.Survivors include her Son, Eric Sledge and two Grandchildren, Wesley and Courtney Sledge of Sunman, Indiana; Brother, Brian Dorlan of Black Mountain, N.C.; three Sisters, Tammy Arrowood of Ashville, N.C., Trina Wilkerson of Seneca, S.C., and Revonda VanDervert of Arkansas; two Nephews, Bradley and Brandon Arrowood of Ashville, N.C., and many friends and family members.A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home, Ashville, 1428 Patton Avenue, Ashville, North Carolina 28806. Earl Jones, Pastor of Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate.
