Shirley Mae Hutson, of Sunman, was born on June 24, 1935, at home in Penntown, to the late Calvin William and Berdella Abplanalp Hutson. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Sunman, teaching Sunday school for over 60 years and was responsible for starting their Youth Group and Vacation Bible School, as well as being involved in Ladies Aide. Shirley retired from Kellerman Law Office in Batesville after 36 years of service, and was an active member of Farm Bureau. She loved her family and friends and generally enjoyed anything that "came along." At the age of 80, Shirley passed away at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati on September 21, 2015. Those surviving who will cherish Shirley's memory include her sister, Wanda Hutson of Sunman; aunt, Doris Hutson of Penntown; uncle, Bill Schocke of Hartford City, Indiana, and many cousins, friends and neighbors. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at St. John's United Church of Christ, Penntown. Services will begin at 12:00 noon and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
