Stephen Michael Weber "Reno", 58, of Brookville, Indiana passed away due to an accidental death in Franklin County, Indiana on Monday, June 6, 2011.He was born February 13, 1953 in Batesville, Indiana to Raymond and Marie (Gutzwiller) Weber.He was married to Melody Ann Cracraft Lea by Rev. Art Walters on February 7, 1987 in Cedar Grove, Indiana at the residence of his sister and brother-in-law- Mary and Alan Graf.He served honorably in the United States Navy, he was a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service where he was employed for 23 years, he also worked as a clerk at Tebbe's Package Store in Brookville for over 25 years, he had also worked at HH Robertson in Connersville until its closing. Steve was a devoted and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather who was a good cook, enjoyed feeding and watching birds, golfing, fishing, gardening and hunting mushrooms- he was an honest, hard working man who actively supported the Franklin County Special Olympics and his favorite thing was always being with Melody, Tara, Wes and Grandkids- Chloe and Kylie.He was a 1971 graduate of Brookville High School, memberships include the Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion where he served with the Firing Squad, the FOE #1129(Eagles), Knights of Columbus Council #1010, VFW and the DAV.Survivors include: His wife of 24 years- Melody Ann Weber, Daughter- Tara D. Lea at home, Son and daughter-in-law- Wesley A. and Becky Lea of Laurel, Indiana, Granddauhgters- Chloe A. Lea and Kylie A. Lea, Brothers- James J. Weber of Clearwater, Florida, Raymond (Sherron) Weber of Chesapeake, Virginia, Sister- Mary (Alan) Graf of Cedar Grove, Indiana, 14 Nieces and Nephews and many Great and Great, Great Nieces and Nephews, Special Cousin- Ray Hemke of Sunman, Indiana, Mother-in-law- Dorothy E. Thompson of Richmond, Indiana, and many, many friends.He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters Dorothy A. Burkhart, and Rita M. Griffen, Father-in-law- Wesley P. Thompson.Visitation will be Friday, June 10th, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indian 47012, the Funeral Service will follow immediately at 7:00 PM, where Rev. Curtis Bond of Brookville United Methodist Church will officiate, Military Honors provided by Bernard Hurst Post #77- American Legion of Brookville.Memorial Contributions can be made to Franklin County Special Olympics or to the American Legion Firing Squad.
