Thomas Joseph Martin, age 71, of Sunman, Indiana, entered this life on September 19, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son to Thomas John and Ann Urk Martin. He served his country as part of the United States Army Reserves and worked and later retired from Batesville Casket in 2006. He was a former member of the Batesville Eagles and collected model trains. Tom enjoyed farming, dancing, mowing grass, and spending time with his grandchildren. He died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at his residence. Those surviving who will cherish Tom's memory include his children; sons, Robert D. Martin (Germn Rodrguez) of Seattle, WA, Ron Martin (Tina), Ken Martin, and Bill Martin (Vicki), all of Sunman; daughter, Cathy Richter (Jim) also of Sunman; 7 grandchildren, Abby Martin, Megan Martin, Miranda Richter, Sarah Richter, Brad Richter, Sean Martin and Seth Martin, and brothers, Jerry Martin of Batesville, and Richard Martin of West Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may visit with Tom's family on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Funeral services, officiated by Father Shaun Whittington will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. Memorial donations can be directed to a Charity of Choice.
