Derenski
May 17, 1937 – January 3, 2018
Truie Mae Derenski, of Cedar Grove, was born on May 17, 1937 in Yancey, Kentucky, the daughter of Albert and Mary Chambers Goodman. She married Donald Merle Derenski on July 6, 1957 in Connersville, and together they raised 5 sons. Truie loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family; she especially loved babysitting the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the age of 80, Truie passed away at Brookville Health Care.
Those surviving who will cherish Truie's memory include her loving husband of over 60 years, Donald Derenski; sons, Donald Merle (Brenda) Derenski, Jr. of Batesville, Daniel (Lori) Derenski of Lawrenceburg, David (Krissy) Derenski of Graham, WA, Jonathan Scott Derenski of Cedar Grove, and James Michael Derenski of Brookville; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and one sister.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Truie's grandson, Nathan will officiate the service at 12 noon and burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
