Walter M. Jordan, 73, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, July 28th at his residence. Walter was the son of Albert and Alpha McKim Jordan and was born on August 2, 1939 in Batesville, Indiana.Walter always had his tools with him and was known for his desire to help anyone, anytime and in anyway possible. He was a service technician for Brookville Tire Mart ( Firestone Store ) for the past 37 years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Brookville and in any spare time he might have, he attended yard sales, did gardening, grew flowers and shared time with his family. Rev. Charles Hunter married Walter and Joyce M. Downard on December 9, 1960 in the Bible Baptist Church in Metamora, Indiana and she survives. Also surviving are his loving children, Linda ( Jackie ) Stenger, Scott ( Cheri ) Jordan, Todd ( Tifiney ) Jordan and Brenda ( Carris ) Smith all of Brookville and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also surviving are his sisters, Helen Couch of Laurel and Anna Mae Fish of Indianapolis and his brother, Clyde Jordan of Sylvester, Georgia. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ruth Baker and brothers, Dale Jordan and Russell Jordan.Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 31st from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home 929 Main St Brookville, Indiana 47012 and onThursday, August 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church530 Market Street Brookville, IN 47012.
